I have tapped the cross at least twice trying to cancel the timer. Luckily I didn't lose anything important and have hopefully learned my lesson.

We don't need a patch. In my opinion, previous behaviour and messaging was much superior. But... But it's good to have a patch as a workaround. Although how long will we remedy these UX failures.

Agreed, partly. A bin icon would be better but still not 100% fool proof. If you do not know that the other part of remorse panel is for exactly what it is meant for: cancel the action.
